Dictionary of Biblical Imagery

As the Holy Spirit led the inspired authors and poets of the Bible to write, he had them fill the pages of our Bible with vibrant images drawn from the culture, natural history, and landscapes around them.

This dictionary explores the most commonly used biblical images.  It contains entries on sandals and harps, foxes and fig trees, as well as places like Mount Sinai, Nazareth, and the Dead Sea.  Each entry provides a description of the item in view, summarizes how people thought about it in Bible times, and provides examples of how the image is put to work in God’s Word.  Photos and maps are also included.

This is the window into the into the biblical world that will enliven your reading of the Bible.
